Patriot Day Support
The Men's Ministry has an outreach program each year around 9/11, directed towards the area's First Responders. They deliver a basket of fresh-baked goods from families of NCC along with a letter from Pastor Jerry recognizing the service of these men and women. There are 20 police, fire and EMT agencies and we, the women of NCC, are again invited to help in this outreach.
We need women to bake (or purchase) at least 2 dozen muffins, cupcakes, cookies, or bars to be dropped off at church any time before 12 Noon on Friday morning, September 7. There will be tables outside of the Fellowship Center to place your goodies.
We need 5 or 6 women to help prepare the baskets for delivery. This will be done at 12 Noon on Friday, September 7 and usually takes about an hour.
We also need teams of 2 women to participate in the actual deliveries. The teams will pick up their baskets at 9:00am on Saturday, September 8, after the men's Bible study, and will head out to their assigned agencies. It’s a wonderful experience to interact directly with the First Responders, and see how deeply touched they are by the kindness of our church.
We are so privileged to be able to show God's love in this practical way with those who selflessly serve our community, and ensure our safety & protection! Now more than ever, they need to know we support and appreciate them!
Please reach out to Janet Smith if you would like to participate in any way.
